Finance Consulting Firms Hit Best Places to Work List

By julie steinberg

How many ping pong balls does it take to fill a 747? Estimate the size of the bubble gum market. Quick, what's 17% of 389?

Ah, the case interview -- the most frightening part of day-long consulting interviews, where the right answer isn't most important but rather how you got it. Say something that impresses and you could land at one of Consulting Magazine's Best Firms to Work for list.

No surprise, several top financial consulting and accounting firms have made the list this year.

Alvarez and Marsal, the firm that handled Lehman's bankruptcy, made an impressive appearance at #12. PricewaterhouseCoopers ranked #15, while the financial and actuarial services of Towers Perrin landed the firm a #14 finish.
