Having an accounting background can land you a top federal job. Just ask Carlo di Florio, a former PricewaterhouseCoopers partner who was recently named the director of the SEC's Office of Compliance and Inspections and Examinations. At PwC, he was a partner in the Financial Services Regulatory Practice and focused heavily on regulatory compliance and corporate governance.
His new gig at the SEC will be somewhat like his old one. The main objective? To oversee the SEC's examination programs for investment advisers, broker-dealers, mutual funds, and credit rating agencies.
