Follow the rock stars. They'll take you to BlackRock Inc.
The asset-management firm has emerged a clear winner from the wreckage of the financial crisis. That was brought home recently with the addition of banker Kendrick Wilson, considered a statesman of Wall Street, and a long-time hand at both Lazard and Goldman Sachs (he even spent time at the U.S. Treasury assisting Hank Paulson with the Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae bailouts).
Wilson's choice of BlackRock as a new home makes it clear -- the once-boring and still-stodgy BlackRock is a sexy place to work.
