Finance Firms Top 100 Best Companies List

By julie steinberg

Working Mother released its annual list of 100 Best Companies this morning, and finance and insurance firms simply rocked it. No less than 24 finance and insurance companies made the cut, with several taking spots in the top ten. (Working Mother does not rank the companies; they're presented alphabetically.)

One bank scored well in every category: Bank of America, which appeared the Top Ten, Best in Flexibility, Best in Childcare, and Best in Parental Leave lists.

Here are the stats:

Finance Firms Among the Top Ten Best Companies (arranged alphabetically):

Bank of America: Working mothers can enroll in the My Work program and login in from home or office, while another program allows part time scheduling for a certain amount of time. All new parents can take off 26 weeks after the birth of adoption of a child, and get paid for 12 of them.

Deloitte: Encourages its employees to have adventures via its new sabbatical program, gives $10,000 in annual tuition for job-related courses, and also grants birth mothers 14 paid weeks off. Related: Deloitte to Hire 250,000 Over Five Years

They can use technology that will enable them to log in to the system from wherever they are, even a soccer game. Related: Best and Worst Things About Telecommuting

KPMG: KPMG created a leadership institute for women and offers training sessions on how to optimize a work/life balance. The firm also gives heavy childcare discounts.
