JPMorgan Chase & Co. has tapped the chief executive of its Canadian card services unit to run the bank's commercial card business, citing his extensive experience in the industry.
In addition to leading the commercial card unit, Andrew Pilkington will serve as interim principal officer for the Canadian branch of JPMorgan Chase Bank and president of JPMorgan Bank Canada. He will also retain responsibility for the Canadian Consumer Card division.
Prior to joining Chase, Pilkington worked as general manager of American Express Co.'s merchant services and global commercial card businesses in Canada.
"Andy has provided strong leadership in Canada and helped expand our Canadian business through this challenging economic cycle," said Chase Card Services Chief Executive Gordon Smith.
In the latest quarter, JPMorgan's card services business saw income nearly triple, while its provision for credit losses sharply declined.
