Tip: Private Equity Experts Wanted at the SEC
If you're looking for a job in private funds, try the SEC. The federal agency is hiring at least two experts: one to focus on hedge funds and private equity and the other to focus on mutual funds. Fellowships usually run about two years and can be based in Washington, D.C. or New York. If you don't want to work for the government, consider compliance opportunities at both private equity firms and hedge funds, which will need to staff up as part of the Dodd-Frank financial regulation reform mandate.
