Overview

Investors Bancorp is a holding company for Investors Savings Bank, a New Jersey-chartered savings bank based in Short Hills, N.J. It has 53 branch offices in New Jersey.

The company, touting its strong capital ratios and avoidance of subprime lending, opted to not participate in the U.S. federal bank bailout. CEO Kevin Cummings says the bank is in a growth mode. It plans to acquire American Bancorp of New Jersey Inc, a five-branch bank based in Bloomfield, N.J., and expects to open three additional branches in 2009.
