Bank of Montreal is the fourth largest bank in Canada. BOM offers a range of retail-banking, wealth-management and investment-banking products and services. Its personal and commercial-banking Canada business provides financial services to personal and commercial customers in Canada and in select markets in the U.S. Harris Bankcorp Inc. is its banking arm in Chicago. Its private-client group provides wealth-management products and services to individuals and institutions. BMO Capital Markets offers clients financial and capital-markets products and services to companies, institutional clients and governments in Canada and the U.S., as well as in the U.K., Europe, Asia and Australia.
Like other financial-services firms, Bank of Montreal was hurt by the battered U.S. housing market. It was recently reported to be cutting 1,000 jobs.
