DTCC also provides trade-confirmation services for credit-default swaps and operates a virtual information warehouse that stores records. It has six subsidiaries in the U.S. and overseas.
Recently a move to merge DTCC with LCH.Clearnet to create the world's largest clearinghouse for financial products fell apart. DTCC is looking to expand its European presence and clear more over-the-counter trades.
