Financial Risk Management Ltd. is an asset-management company that provides hedge fund-of-funds, managing $9.5 billion in absolute and relative-return products. The London-based company, which was founded in 1991, provides global hedge-fund research, investing and client services. The company also has a separate business, FRM Capital Advisors, which provides seed capital to early-stage hedge-fund managers.
The company has investment staff on three continents, investing in more than 120 hedge-fund managers around the globe. This broad investment platform allows the firm to offer lower-risk diversified portfolios to concentrate exposure in specific investment styles, asset classes and geographic regions.
Blaine Tomlinson, the chairman of FRM, had been a director and board member of AIG Financial Products Group, where he was responsible for managing the European business. He previously was an executive director at Nomura International Ltd., where he established a swap and structured-products group.
