Kingdon Capital Management LLC is a Midtown Manhattan-based hedge-fund manager. It manages more than $5 billion in assets.
Born and bred New Yorker Mark Kingdon founded the firm in 1983. He launched it with $2 million after spending eight years at Century Capital Associates LLC, a boutique investment bank. Kingdon’s interest in finance started early. While in high school, he penned an investment newsletter. Kingdon began his career at AT&T’s pension-fund administration group. He practices martial arts and is a black belt.
