Miami-based Ladenburg Thalmann Financial Services Inc. is a boutique investment bank and broker-dealer. Through its subsidiaries it provides investment banking, equity research, institutional sales and trading, independent brokerage and advisory services and asset management. Principal subsidiaries include Ladenburg Thalmann & Co. Inc., Investacorp Inc. and Triad Advisors Inc. It acquired the latter in 2008.
The firm caters to middle-market and emerging-growth companies, as well as high-net-worth investors. Investacorp serves the independent registered-representative community and Triad is an independent broker-dealer and registered investment adviser.
Ladenburg’s growth in recent years has been through acquisition. In 2008 Ladenburg acquired Punk Zeigel & Co., a New York boutique that specializes in health care.
