Spencer Stuart is one of the world's largest executive-search consulting firms. Financial Services Practice represents more than a fifth of the firm's clients. Specialties within that practice includes global banking and markets, consumer financial services, asset management, insurance, wealth management and real estate. It also has a private-equity practice. The privately-owned company has 340 consultants in 51 offices in 27 countries.
The firm has become the go-to recruiter when Uncle Sam wants bailed-out companies to install new directors and other top officials, according to The Wall Street Journal. Thomas J. Neff, Spencer Stuart's 71-year-old U.S. chairman and top CEO recruiter, has been a pivotal player in the searches, the paper reports.
