Cushman & Wakefield Inc. is a real-estate company that provides property management, brokerage services, research analysis, portfolio optimization and investor services. The New York-based company has 220 offices in 60 countries. It's mostly owned by Italian industrial holding company Exor SpA controlled by the Agnelli family.
The company entered the Middle East market for the first time in 2008 with the launch of new operations in Dubai. In the U.S., it acquired Burnham Real Estate, one of Southern California's largest independent commercial real-estate services firms in 2008. The company was hit hard by the downturn. It recently hired Glenn Rufrano, head of Centro Properties Group, as chief executive to work a turnaround.
