SCOR is the fifth-largest reinsurance company in the world. Its provides property and casualty, life, accident, and health insurance lines. The Paris-based company has two business segments: global life and property and casualty. It serves 1,300 clients in more than 130 countries.
Risk Magazine awarded SCOR as the 2009 Insurance Risk Manager of the Year for the “Economic Scenario Generator," a risk-management tool that calculates insurance risk.
In 2008, SCOR expanded to South Africa, China, and Brazil.
Recruiting
SCOR says it prefers experienced candidates to have seven to 15 years of experience in very specific sectors, such as aerospace, civil liability, agricultural risks, or health care. As for young graduates, SCOR seeks master's or Ph.D. graduates from the French grandes écoles, or from European or North American universities, for actuarial positions or positions in accounting, finance, marketing, communications, human resources and information technology.
