Simon Property Group Inc. is a real-estate investment trust that owns, develops and manages more than 300 properties, including malls, community shopping centers and outlet centers. The Indianapolis-based company has properties in the Northeast, Midwest, Florida and Texas. It also has international properties in Mexico, France, Poland, Italy, Japan and South Korea.
Simon Property Group was named America's Most Admired Company in the real estate industry in 2009 by Fortune magazine.
The Simon family, which has a 14% stake in the company, owns the Indiana Pacers professional basketball team.
Recruiting
The Simon family started the Simon Youth Foundation in 1998. The organization provides scholarship programs and education-resource centers throughout the country. The foundation targets students who are at risk of not finishing school on time, or at all, due to personal or family barriers. Simon Property Group employees are encouraged to get involved with the foundation.
