SL Green Realty Corp. is a real-estate investment trust that acquires, renovates and manages commercial properties, primarily in Midtown Manhattan. The New York-based company owns or co-owns nearly 70 office properties. Some of the firm’s largest tenants include Citigroup Inc., Morgan Stanley and Viacom.
In 2007, SL Green acquired Reckson Associates Realty Corp. which added 9 million square feet to its portfolio. The acquisition allowed SL Green to branch out into Westchester County, N.Y., and Stamford, Conn. Founder and chairman Steven L. Green started SL Green Properties in 1980 and the company went public in 1997.

Founder and chairman Stephen L. Green is a vice chairman of the Real Estate Board of New York and a member of its executive committee. He is also on the board of directors of Street Squash, an urban youth-enrichment program providing academic tutoring and squash instruction. A former nationally ranked squash player, Mr. Green endows a squash tournament, known as the “SL Green National Open Squash Championships.”
