Calabasas, Calif.-based The Ryland Group Inc. is a homebuilder with a financial services business that provides loan origination and offers mortgage, title, escrow and insurance services. Subsidiary Ryland Mortgage Company was established in 1978. Eight in 10 of the firm’s homebuilding clients use the mortgage arm to finance their homes. Ryland’s insurance operations offer homeowners insurance. The company also offers title insurance.
Chad Dreier, who served as chief executive for 15 years, stepped down earlier this year but remains as chairman. Chief operating officer and president, Larry Nicholson, took over the role.
