Overview
BDO International, a global network of accounting firms, provides assurance, tax, financial advisory and consulting services. As the fifth largest professional services outfit, this rank makes it part of the chasing pack behind the Big Four and among the so-called "Tier Two" firms. The auditor's member firms are in 100 countries. Its international executive office is located in Brussels, Belgium, and its U.S. member firm, BDO Seidman LLP, the No. 7 accounting firm in the U.S., is headquartered in Chicago.
As at many large accounting firms, there's a big push to give its hard-charging employees more flexibility. The use of virtual meetings with WebEx technology is cutting down on heavy travel schedules while saving the company big bucks. Another plan on the boards: going carbon neutral within five years.
