Morgan Keegan & Co. Inc. is a regional investment firm offering investment banking, securities brokerage, wealth and asset management. The firm is a subsidiary of Regions Financial Corp. and a sister company to commercial bank Regions Bank. The Memphis, Tenn.-based firm has more than 300 offices in 19 states, serving individual investors and corporate and institutional clients.
Morgan Keegan's investment banking group is one of the largest focused on the middle market. Some analysts have recently speculated that Regions may look to sell the brokerage, even though it is one of its most valuable assets and considered a core asset, according to The Wall Street Journal. But Regions has ruled out the sale of the unit, the Journal says.

Morgan Keegan has been expanding its fixed-income capital-markets division and recently acquired Atlanta-based Burke Capital Group LLC, which serves financial companies, and Boston investment bank Revolution Partners LLC, which focuses on technology.
