The firm is a subsidiary of Regions Financial Corp. and a sister company to commercial bank Regions Bank. Morgan Keegan's investment banking group is one of the largest focused on the middle market. Some analysts have recently speculated that Regions may look to sell the brokerage, even though it is one of its most valuable assets and considered a core asset, according to The Wall Street Journal. But Regions has ruled out the sale of the unit, the Journal says.
