The PMI Group Inc. is a provider of financial products for residential mortgages, public finance obligations and asset-backed securities. Based in Walnut Creek, Calif., PMI is one of the largest providers of private mortgage insurance.
As PMI has struggled to with the problems plaguing the mortgage insurance industry, it has been undergoing a massive restructuring that has included closing, selling and reconfiguring various overseas operations.
