M&T Bank Corp., a regional bank holding company, has two wholly-owned bank subsidiaries: M&T Bank and M&T Bank NA. They offer commercial banking, trust and investment services, operating in business banking, commercial banking, commercial real estate, discretionary portfolio, residential mortgage banking and retail banking. M&T Bank has nearly 700 branch offices in New York, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Delaware, New Jersey, Virginia, West Virginia and the District of Columbia.
Buffalo, N.Y.-based M&T, long known as one of the steadiest performers in the banking industry, counts Warren Buffett among its largest shareholders. M&T's name derives from predecessor Manufacturers and Traders Bank and its history stretches back to 1856. The bank lends its name to the M&T Bank Stadium, home of professional football's Baltimore Ravens.
