Overview
F.N.B. Corp. is a diversified financial-services company based in Hermitage, Pa. It provides commercial and retail banking, leasing, wealth management, insurance, merchant banking, and consumer finance services. The company is the fifth largest bank in Pennsylvania and has more than 190 branch and office locations in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Tennessee and Florida.
F.N.B.'s chief executive resigned in February 2008 after less than a year in the job after the bank posted a nearly $19 million loss for the fourth quarter. Chairman Stephen J. Gurgovits, who had retired as CEO in 2008, has stepped in as interim CEO. In 2008, the bank acquired State College, Pa.-based financial-services company Omega Financial Corp. and Pittsburgh bank-holding company Iron and Glass Bancorp Inc.
