Job Description

The program is available to MBA graduates who want to build on their prior experience and studies while strengthening their critical thinking and leadership skills.

About the program

The Vanguard MBA Development Program is a fast-paced and challenging rotational program that targets participants interested in pursuing general management or investment management careers. It's comprised of advanced business- and professional-development training courses and multiple rotations that will expose you to our various business units. Rotational assignments range across our operational, investment, and relationship functions, allowing you to get a broad look at our business.

Your assignments may place you in any of the following business units:

Retail Investor Group
High Net Worth
Asset Management
Advice Services Group
Business Development
Institutional Investor Group
Financial Advisory Services

Upon successful completion of the program, you'll be placed into a challenging general management or investment management role that suits your strengths and interests. Participants on the general-management path will be placed in a project management role or a role in leading other Vanguard crew members. Those interested in investment management will have the option to pursue investment research and analysis or money management.

Program support

To help ensure your success as a participant in the program, you'll work collaboratively with managers and other crew members on highly visible work assignments that will enhance your critical thinking and leadership skills. As a valued member of your departmental team, you'll be responsible for delivering high-quality results that support your business area's strategic and tactical goals. Your rotations will be tailored to fit your skills and interests as well as Vanguard's business needs.

Throughout the program, the MBA program manager will provide you with ongoing coaching and feedback, and act as a resource to discuss your areas of interest and opportunity. You'll also be given many opportunities to network with Vanguard management and peers, learn from experts, and gain exceptional experience. You'll work closely with an officer-level mentor who will meet with you regularly and assist you with your career development.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate is an MBA graduate who possesses:

Preferred cumulative graduate GPA of 3.2 or higher.

Minimum of three to five years of prior related work experience.
Previous supervisory experience is preferred for the general management path.
Previous investment management experience preferred for investment path.
Strong analytical, strategic thinking, communication, and project management skills.
Interest in exploring a variety of business areas.
Highly motivated and enthusiastic team player.
