Visium is an Alternative Asset Manager that aims to deliver superior risk adjusted returns in a variety of market environments. We currently manage over $3.5bn in long/short equity, credit and multi-strategy funds

Position:

Visium is looking for a Senior Developer to work within the risk management group on building software applications and providing support to risk, portfolio management, operations, and accounting. We are looking for someone with a passion for finance and understanding of how to use technology to solve business problems.

Responsibilities

The Software Developer will work with the risk team in supporting portfolio managers, building P&L and risk reporting applications, and accounting and risk system integration. The Software Developer needs to handle a minimalist yet automated development process, and be comfortable handing all aspects of development from requirements gathering through testing and deployment. This person should have an ability to take abstract requirements and turn them into valuable software.

Qualifications and Skills

Ideal candidate will have at least 5-10 years of experience building applications in the finance industry and will have a graduate/undergraduate degree in Computer or Information Science or equivalent experience. The ideal candidate should possess effective communication skills with technical and non-technical members of the organization.

Required

• C# 4.0: LinQ, ASP.NET, WinForms, .NET remoting, Excel automation, multi-threading

• Strong knowledge of SQL Server 2008 Analysis and Reporting Services, MDX , OLAP

• Knowledge of basic risk management frameworks related to VAR & stress testing

• Experience with EZE Castle, Risk Metrics, Prime Brokers/Fund Admins, Geneva

Preferred

• Knowledge of equity, commodity, currency, fixed-income and credit products

• Experience with Matlab and working with analytics and pricing libraries.

• Market Data vendors : MarkIt Partners, Reuters, Quant House

• Experience with Data Warehouses (MIK) and data aggregators (QuantFeed, StreamBase)

• Imagine, Enfusion, FrontArena or similar portfolio or risk management system.
