This role deals with the portion of T-C's new business opportunities that are most complex and involve the higher level of assets/premium flows. For existing business, this role defines the new policies and procedures that will be used to review thousands of client produced plan documents (most are unique) and provide SME expertise to the resources utilized in this review. Develops and assists in the implementation of initiatives on process/workflow improvements and program/policy changes. Responsible for drafting and updating TIAA-CREF specimen or pre-approved plan documents, including required regulatory filings. Assists in remediation of identified plan document/operational variances. This role will also be responsible for reviewing the plan documents for our largest clients. Provides legal communications and correspondence on highly complex topics. Participates in RFP (new business proposals) review and response, provides analysis of record keeping abilities v plan documents. Develops and modifies approaches for high volume legal reviews of client documents. Acts as SME for such reviews for other FT staff and outsourced resourcing models, including providing training, mentoring, and quality control reviews. Provides policy analysis and recommendations for legal documents used by T-C or submitted from clients. Participates in project teams for new products and services providing analysis of impact to plan documents. Qualifications
JD or advanced degree, 10 years of plan document/compliance experience. Excellent communication skills (both oral and written). Ability to work independently as well as develop strong relationships and collaborate with internal business partners, including senior leadership. Expert attention to details.Thorough knowledge of defined benefit and defined contribution retirement plans, laws and regulatory requirements.
