Job Description

Vanguard, one of the world's largest investment management companies and a recognized employer of choice, seeks an advisor marketing manager to develop fully comprehensive marketing strategies that serve as a key component of the overall business strategies for each respective channel. The marketing leader assumes a leadership position that strongly influences the plans and activities of multiple marketing units as well as our partners in Financial Advisory Services (FAS) Sales. The position is viewed as a key role in further establishing Vanguard as a preferred provider of Exchange Traded Funds (ETF) solutions to a wider audience of selling firms and advisors, as well as deepening relationships with existing partners.

Your primary duties and responsibilities:

Interfaces with FAS executive leadership in developing the comprehensive marketing strategy agenda and full marketing plan for the core channels of our FAS business: Wirehouses/Banks, Broker-Dealers, and RIAs. Oversees planning, development and execution of short and long range goals.
Advocates for the introduction of new and innovative marketing solutions to our FAS business. Leads the development of channel marketing relationship solutions & other marketing support concepts towards advancing business across our key selling channels.
Prioritize and design marketing strategies for Key Accounts within assigned channel. This requires the translation and modification of channel-level plans at the firm level. The rapid growth of Key Account activities requires a marketing leader with the ability to effectively prioritize and make 'go / no go' decisions on behalf of the business.
Executes business plan and achieves strong results while effectively managing brand and reputational risk. Analyzes marketing return on investment for decision-making and other related issues, and develops cost effective solutions to marketing issues. Assumes accountability for marketing and shared business outcomes.
Maintains close engagement with FAS channel leads, key accounts team and other senior level executives in sales and sales administrative organizations.
Provides direction to cross-functional team members as needed for development and execution of marketing initiatives and campaigns. Collaboration with FAS MarCommWeb team including Marketing Managers, Direct Marketing, Content and Design, and Web teams. Campaign elements will include digital marketing, marketing collateral, thought leadership packaging and sales delivery, sales training, PR, DM/EDM, web, industry and partner events and co-marketing arrangements..
Measures and analyze marketing plan and campaign impacts to determine progress against FAS business goals.
Builds strategic relationships across divisions and sites; welcomes debate, demonstrates a collaborative, inclusive style. Contributes to peers' success. Embraces diversity of thought, background and experience in driving teams towards identification of optimal marketing solutions.
Demonstrates flexible and independent thinking; maximizes personal impact; deals well with ambiguity.
Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should possess:

Undergraduate degree or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Marketing degree and/or M.B.A. preferred.
Minimum five years of progressive responsibilities and related experience including directing the work of others.
Experience in managing multi-channel, multi-segment marketing campaigns.
Solid organizations skills and ability to work across multiple functions. Must be able to navigate matrix management organizations.
Excellent interpersonal, communications, and presentation skills.
Possesses strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
Proven ability to listen to and collaborate with peers, individuals and teams in non-reporting situations.
Professional presence and ability to develop strong working relationships with senior executives.
Demonstrated self-starter. Strong learning skills.
