Job Description

Vanguard, one of the world's largest investment management companies and a recognized employer of choice, seeks a business technology administrator to provide support to CFS clients for all designated applications. You will provide operational and technical expertise in response to client requests for system solutions impacting Domestic and International Vanguard business objectives.

Your primary duties and responsibilities:

Production support for PeopleSoft applications.
Primarily for General Ledger with international, multi-currency, and VAT experience.
Also, helpful to have Accounts Receivable and/or Asset Management experience.
Provides client support for designated CFS applications including but not limited to system enhancements, system maintenance and reporting.
Makes recommendations aimed at improving divisional and departmental productivity and quality. Influences department decision-makers to adopt recommendations; develops project plans to implement recommendations and garners support through use of quantitative analysis and persuasion skills.
Engages various stakeholders from both within and outside of department to determine project scope and requirements, and implement solutions for enhancements. Works with appropriate parties to plan, schedule, coordinate and manage business activities required to deliver project solutions.
Establishes delivery time-frames, sets programming priorities and ensures recommended system solutions address division and department needs.
Stays abreast of new or existing technologies and integrates them into data gathering and analysis processes.
Recommends enhancements and modifications to existing applications to promote effective system performance.
Updates current or creates new procedures.
Creates and/or maintains the regression plan and system test scripts used in System Acceptance Testing. Performs the execution of system test scripts for any system related enhancements, vendor code fixes, or upgrades. Analyzes the results of the testing and provides recommendations and partners with IT or external vendors in issue resolution.
Manages all aspects of Client Acceptance Testing including developing test cases to ensure business unit specifications meet established deliverables prior to elevation, utilizing established methodologies defined by management and Vanguard's System Integration team.
For applicable application support, coordinates the processes required to complete an application close cycle (i.e. accounting or payroll) and assists with data reconciliation and financial reporting pertaining to these processes.
Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with both internal and external clients, business partners, IT and external vendors. Proactively fosters effective communication. Anticipates clients' needs and ensures clients' satisfaction related to the services being provided.
Determines when it is appropriate to involve Crew Engagement team for change, training and communication support. Provides technical support and training as deemed appropriate by responding to questions, concerns, and issues. Solicits feedback on user experiences and recommends and implements operational/procedural/informational solutions.
Produces quality deliverables within the designated time frames. Assists with the continual communication of the CFS vision to business and technical clients.
Champions Vanguard Unmatchable Excellence efforts with an emphasis on minimizing business risk and maximizing operational efficiencies.
Coordinates the activities related to on-going system security audits to ensure compliance with controls established by Internal Audit. Participates in providing system overview and data gathering activities in support of both internal and external audit requests.
Completes end user requests to grant appropriate access to applicable systems.
Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should possess:

Undergraduate degree (in a related field, Business Administration or Accounting -Domestic and International- preferred) or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Minimum three years general experience and three years industry/technology.
Previous system test experience preferred.
Previous financial system support preferred.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects with differing deliverable dates.
Demonstrated planning and analytical skills.
Impeccable judgment and ability to analyze and respond to problem situations.
Strong written and verbal communications skills.
Excellent computer skills required including a broad knowledge of all MS Office software. A detailed knowledge of specific CFS systems/applications is preferred.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Must have experience with:
