Regional News Network (RNN) is a privately owned enterprise based in Rye Brook, NY. RNN has grown from a single broadcast station in New York's Hudson Valley in 1993 reaching less than a quarter million homes to today reaching more than six million homes throughout New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. We pride ourselves in delivering reliability and professionalism to the news and content production businesses and air diverse programming with regional, national and international content partners. RNN owns and operates WRNN-TV, a full-power television station, and RISE Television, a cable network distributed on Time Warner, Verizon FiOS and over the air on WRNN-TV DT2. RNN and its affiliates produce two 24-hour news channels in the New York DMA and two content channels in the Washington D.C. region for its partners. RNN recently built a new state-of-the-art multi-platform content hub based around the philosophy of finding efficiencies by producing content in a centralized model with the latest technology. RNN employs more than 200 award-winning journalists and multi-platform producers, reporters and editors, and supplemental video resources from regional, national, and international news partners and continues to recruit highly skilled and highly engage staff to further its mission. RNN is currently seeking an Art Director who will conceptualize, collaborate, produce and supervise the creation of compelling, original graphical packages for RNN/RFL programming, including complete channel looks, promotion creation, and special projects. Key Responsibilities: Work collaboratively with News and Production teams to conceptualize the creative graphical look and feel for the station and all its channels. Translate goals of the marketing and promotional departments into visual branding. Utilize graphics to enhance Special Event broadcasts Lead a department of graphics artists covering all shifts and day parts Work must meet the creative and strategic goals of the department as determined by the COO, President of News and Director of Operations. Utilize superior customer service skills with internal staff, clients, agencies and show producers to build and maintain positive relationships with all of our partners. Amend and/or revise campaigns according to feedback from COO, President and Director of Ops Manage schedules and resources to ensure that all projects are delivered on time and within budget. Required Skills Expert knowledge of After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, Adobe Creative Suite, Flash, and other television / video graphical platforms. Knowledge of print, video and web production processes a must. Exceptional copywriting skills. Strong creative, conceptual and strategic thinker. Able to supervise video and audio edit sessions. Ability to direct voice-over talent. Ability to work under pressure and on multiple projects with concurrent timelines. Ability to work within a budget and deliver creative materials on time. Excellent work ethic. Level headed, calm and functions well under stress. Self-motivated and driven. Quick study and enthusiastic about acquiring knowledge relating to job. Organized, with strong multi-tasking abilities. Team player with friendly disposition who takes directions well. Experience must include the creation of integrated advertising campaigns involving both technical and creative aspects of TV and radio advertising production, from concept/writing through postproduction and final delivery. Working knowledge of on-air promotion production techniques, including pre- and post-production. Experience Required BA in advertising, design, communications, media, or liberal arts with a background in TV and digital production essential. At least 4 years managing a creative department in a fast-paced, highly branded environment. Experience translating broadcast designs and concepts to interactive digital and social media campaigns. Post-production and non-linear editing knowledge and experience is a must.
