Global insurance company is looking for a senior property underwriter to support the business plan of Corporate Solutions (''CorSo'') in Asia Pacific

The Company
Our client is a global insurance company with aggressive expansion plans.

The Role

As the senior property underwriter, your role is to support the business plan of Corporate Solutions (''CorSo'') in Asia Pacific by underwriting Property risks according to CorSo''s guidelines and best practice and by assuming responsibility for developing and managing client relationships (brokers and corporates).

You understand group and CorSo sales and underwriting strategy for their LoB and is able to translate it into concrete business relevant actions. Handles sensitive client issues and leads internal processes to ensure swift delivery to client request. Builds up a network of contacts with key decision makers within the broker/client''s organization. Attending client and broker meetings with visits and site inspections where necessary.

Renew allocated existing book of business and underwrite new business by assessing the risk, coverage, terms and conditions. Rate the business within the available rating tool landscape. Underwrites the business within guidelines efficiently and effectively and in accordance with processes, procedures, philosophy and risk appetite. Negotiate terms & conditions with the broker and client in line with the business plan and corporate guidelines requirements. Closely works within the underwriting team and other relevant stakeholders in the Group (Products/Risk Engineering /Claims Management/Actuaries). Managing post underwriting tasks such as amendments/endorsements, project risk management and claims coordination.

Your Profile
To succeed in this role, you must have a degree with at least 10 years experience underwriting operational power risk. High level of knowledge and experience of the assigned insurance market with existing established network of contact brokers, risk managers and clients. Strong technical underwriting background and focus on service orientation with proven business impact. Ability to assess complex risks, coverage, terms and conditions of a (re)insurance placement. Strong technical understanding of power plant technology. Analytical problem solving skills and strong financial acumen with deep insurance market proficiency. Strong background in numerical and actuarial analysis
