Position Description

The U.S. Bank Legal Entity and Regulatory Controllers group is responsible for the accounting, financial and regulatory reporting and oversight of Morgan Stanley's two domestic banks. The group's responsibilities include, but are not limited to, preparation of external and internal financial reporting, all bank regulatory filings, monthly closing of the firm's books and records, P&L, balance sheet and capital analytics, bank specific accounting policy, and business unit support.

This position is a senior level officer within the Legal Entity Reporting Group which requires strong management and leadership skills, self-motivated, innovative and with prior bank and bank product experience. Responsible for maintaining and enhancing compliance with both U.S GAAP and bank regulatory control standards.

Skills Required

• Controller of the two U.S. Banks
• Manage and lead a team of 18 professionals, local and remote
• Management of all of the internal and non regulatory financial reporting including budgeting and forecast
• Management of all current U.S. bank regulatory reporting to the OCC, FRB and FDIC
• Oversee the U.S. banks migration to new capital standards and new FRB or Dodd Frank reporting requirements
• Present to the banks senior management committees and board of directors
• Participate and lead in a number of the firm's enterprise projects that will impact the banks
• Interact with senior business unit management on U.S. bank products and any planned migration

Skills Desired

• Up to 15 years accounting and reporting experience in the finance industry
• Knowledge of bank accounting and bank regulatory reporting
• Strong knowledge of product knowledge including interest and FX derivates, lending, and deposit sweep programs
• Strong management and leadership skills
• Highly motivated individual able to manage highly regulated control environment
• Ability to interact well with other U.S. bank senior and business units officers and clients
• Strong verbal and written presentation skills required to present to senior management, regulators and auditors
• Strong organizational skills, including the ability to coordinate, prioritize and manage multiple activities and staff

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Ideal candidate will have a BS degree in Accounting a MBA preferred.
CPA desired.
