Job Description


The Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA) brings together the shared interests of hundreds of securities firms, banks and asset managers. SIFMA, with offices in New York and Washington, D.C., is the U.S. regional member of the Global Financial Markets Association (GFMA).

The Database Administrator will be responsible for the following:

  • Spearhead data build expansion effort;
  • Provide database administration for a custom database application to all SIFMA employees;
  • Monitor, control, maintain, tune and optimize database;
  • Monitor the database to ensure proper functionality;
  • Manage database activities, administration and management that ensure the optimal operation of all database environments;
  • Identify and initiate resolutions to user problems/concerns associated with database;
  • Identify potential service level problems before they occur and notifying appropriate parties;
  • Establish and adhere to best practices for database change control;
  • Ensure data consistency and integrity across all database systems;
  • Provide training to new and existing employees on Weblinks and adding or removing staff access accounts; continuously update all training materials as reflected in Weblinks changes.


Qualifications
  • 1-3 years of Database Administration experience;
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university; recent college graduates considered.
  • A demonstrated proficiency in supporting the database platform of a large organization;
  • Flexibility to support the Member Engagement team;
  • Capacity to multi-task under pressure;
  • Ability to quickly troubleshoot and resolve complex problems in a live environment;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to articulate complex ideas and solutions to management;
  • Proficiency in database design and administration.
