Job Description

What yoursquoll be doing Develops Information Security policies and procedures in accordance with FERC NERC WECC and ISO internal needs Design and develops program processes for data collection and evidence presentation and setting standards and guidelines to regulatory and legal requirements Defines program to measure compliance including the documentation and evidence Manages the overall business relationships and maintains a high standard of relationship building with NERC WECC and other related entities Actively participates in workshops forums and similar Information Security related activities Monitors the legal and regulatory landscape to proactively address Information Security requirements Manages the CIP standard changes from NERC ensure compliance and applicability to CAISO Disseminates standard changes internally Monitors NERC violation reports and fines and determines applicability to the CAISO Coordinates audits spot checks selfreports writes TFEs and ensures tracking mechanisms are in place Partners with other departments for NERC CIP requirements as they apply to onboarding termination and internal job changes for employees and contract staff Assists in analyzing and data collection Works closely with the NERC Standards Drafting Team and ISO Corporate Compliance in developing and maintaining standards Addresses CIP standards changes providing comments to NERCWECC Partners with internal staff to develop technical tools to manage information security compliance and audit requirements Whats in it for you An opportunity to make a difference and impact the lives of Californians who depend on electricity in their everyday lives You will play a key role in maintaining the reliability of the electrical grid in California (You will help keep the lights on and will make 30 million Californians very happy) You will have the opportunity to work with leading edge technology in the energy industry Alternative work schedules are available (every other Friday off) You will get to work in an extremely comfortable and collaborative work environment in our brand new ldquogreenrdquo LEED certified campus The California ISO has a really Strong Benefits Package Great Medical Dental Vision insurance 401K matching AND additional contribution Join an innovative company that is working hard at keeping its reputation as a leader in the renewable energy industry What you need for this position A Bachelorrsquos degree or equivalent education training and experience Five or more years of experience Experience in an Information Security corporate environment Experience in IT Audit IT Risk system administration network and application security concepts Experience with FERC WECC NERC Reliability Standards including NERC CIP Direct experience or exposure to the following technologies Windows Linux or other UNIX operating systems SSO LDAP Java XML Enterprise Directory or Active Directory Domain Administration Expertise following Governance and Access Control models required Experience in one or more of the following areas one or more directories including Active Directory IBM Directory Server and SunONE Directory Server Novell eDirectory or CA Directory Audit management and internal audit standards Process control design and testing methods Risk Management methodologies and tools Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery methodologies Governance frameworks including ISO27000 SSAE 16 PCI and NERC CIP In depth knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements and risk management Ability to solve business problems through technology Experience in a cross platform environment Company Description The California Independent System Operator (ISO) manages the flow of electricity across the highvoltage longdistance power lines that make up 80 percent of Californias power grid We safeguard the economy and wellbeing of 30 million Californians by keeping the lights on 247 As the impartial grid operator the California ISO opens access to the wholesale power market that is designed to diversify resources and lower prices It also grants equal access to 25865 circuitmiles of power lines and reduces barriers to diverse resources competing to bring power to customers The California ISOs function is often compared to that of air traffic controllers It would be grossly unfair for air traffic controllers to represent one airline and profit from allowing that companys planes to go through before others In the same way the California ISO operates independentlymdashmanaging the electron traffic on a power grid we do not ownmdashmaking sure electricity is safely delivered to utilities and consumers on time and reliably
