Job Description


Essential Functions
  • Design, establish and maintain an organizational structure to effectively accomplish the department's goals and objectives.
  • Lead the day-to-day management of credit portfolios, portfolio companies and funds.
  • Identify areas for enhanced technology automation and processes to improve efficiency and accuracy of financial records. Make recommendations and participate in implementation.
  • Drive portfolio results based on identified KPIs via third-party servicers, interaction with the various business units and working with senior management of portfolio companies.
  • Recommend benchmarks/KPIs for measuring the financial and operating performance, monitoring data quality metrics.
  • Identify, monitor, quantify, mitigate and report risks (including credit, operational, compliance).
  • Create, organize and maintain reports for distribution to management.
  • Prepare financial analysis for contract negotiations and product investment decisions.
  • Develop and manage relationships with partners, clients, prospects and referral sources.
  • Develop processes and controls to manage the various investments effectively.
  • Conduct market analysis and analyze product lines and the overall profitability of the businesses within the portfolio.
  • Provide leadership in the selection, development, motivation, appraisal and retention of a pool of financial analysts.


Job Requirements and Qualifications

Education: BS/BA in Accounting, Finance or Business, or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required. MBA preferred.

Knowledge/Skills Requirements:
  • Effective people and business manager, strong interpersonal skills, team oriented and clear communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections, other pro forma financial statements.
  • Solid understanding of finance, accounting and fixed income capital markets.
  • Very strong credit analysis and transaction structuring experience, with emphasis on consumer receivable cash-flows and corporate credit.
  • Self-starter with hands-on work ethic and the experience on how to transfer results of financial analysis into operational reality.
  • Highly organized with the ability to efficiently and accurately multi-task.
  • Ability to clearly articulate investment strategies to clients and prospects.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a matrix management environment.

Experience:
  • At least 7 years experience in a mid to senior level finance, portfolio management or credit position either with a CLO/CDO, private equity, alternative fund, investment bank or commercial bank.
  • 5-7 years experience in successfully leading and developing staff.

  • Hours in excess of normal business hours are often required.
