Job Description

ASSISTANT CONTROLLER -- PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Interface daily with fund administrator, prime brokers, and trading desk

Assist with and monitor the reconciliation of prime brokerage and custodian accounts, promptly researching and correcting discrepancies

Serve as the liaison and facilitate break resolution between the fund administrator and prime brokers

Participate in the on-boarding process for new accounts and products

Ability to recognize and troubleshoot P&L and accounting issues

Maintain accounting policies, procedures and internal controls in accordance with internal and external guidelines

Accounts payable processing

Budget creation and variance reporting

Prepare reports for senior management

Estimate tax obligations and evaluate appropriate payment options, ensure compliance with regulations

Coordinate annual audits, oversee preparation of support schedules and drafting of audited financial statements

Ad Hoc reporting requirements

Liaising with Compliance and other internal groups to assist with their initiatives

Initiate and participate in projects to improve the overall efficiency of the group, improve automation, prevent errors and adapt to changing strategies

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting

CPA credential

5-7 years of relevant experience in the financial services industry, preferable a mix of public and private experience

Experience with and good understanding of global equities, futures and foreign currencies

Excellent attention to detail and strong time management skills

Excellent written, communication, and interpersonal skills, ability to present internally and externally to manager and clients

Strong skills in Microsoft Office (Excel)

Ability to multitask

Must be able to work independently while understanding the importance of being a strong team player
