Led by our Chief Investment Officer, the Investment Department manages over $70 billion consolidated investment portfolio and consists of more than 100 investment professionals focused on portfolio management, risk management, asset management, derivatives, operations, finance and accounting functions.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Investment Financial Analyst will report to the Director, Investment Reporting as part of the Chief Financial Officer's team. The position will have broad responsibilities across asset classes providing portfolio level reporting. Duties for the position will include:

  • Gather, analyze, validate, verify and manage large quantities of data into meaningful summary findings. This analysis will be used for strategic and tactical decisions regarding investment portfolio management opportunities and/or risk analysis.
  • Manage the completion of the monthly "Report Package" process for Senior Management, including prior period comparison analysis. Centralize, standardize, and systemize reports and timelines of production and needs.
  • Produce Book Yield / Book Value monthly roll forward reports
  • Provide reporting, analytical and operational support to Portfolio Managers and Business Partners
  • Work with Portfolio Managers to provide the non-financial reporting they need to support and communicate with their business partners.
  • Be recognized as a "value add" on projects by actively engaging and supporting in cross-functional projects (i.e. Capital Markets strategies - Reinsurance; ALM, IOC)
  • Drive Investments initiatives to Enhance Investment Analytic Depth for Results
  • Partner with Portfolio Managers, Investment Sector Heads and FP&A counterparts in multiple businesses to analyze and communicate investment results.
  • Ad Hoc portfolio analysis


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • BS/BA degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Applied knowledge of financial concepts
  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and Access
  • 2+ years finance experience
  • Initiative and desire to drive change and enhance processes


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Insurance/ Financial Service Company Experience
  • MBA, CFA or equivalent
  • Business Objects Experience
