UnitedHealth Group, a leading global health care company, is expanding internationally. To address the opportunities and challenges from its rapidly growing businesses outside of the United States, UnitedHealth Group is building its internal international tax capabilities.

The International Tax Senior Manager is responsible for managing the United States tax compliance and accounting requirements for UnitedHealth Group’s operating and support businesses located outside of the U.S. The position currently has two direct reports. Additional responsibilities will include assistance with merger and acquisition due diligence and post-acquisition integration, global audit support and transfer pricing support.

Specific Responsibilities

-Managing all quarterly provision and U.S. compliance activities for approximately 70 foreign entities.
-Includes responsibility for US foreign tax credits and international tax attributes.
-Develop and manage Company's FAS 109 position for foreign entities.
-Review foreign entity provision reporting packages, handling income tax accounting and provisions, and reviewing tax returns.
-Monthly and annual reconciliation of international income tax accounts.
-Interface with corporate accounting and corporate systems to insure international tax accounting requirements are satisfied in ERP and other systems.
-Manage excise tax reporting for international insurance and reinsurance.
-Coordinate withholding tax process with Accounts Payable and Treasury. Manage compliance process for U.S. withholding tax and treaty positions.
-Responsible for FBAR reporting.
-Manage responses to IRS regarding international matters. Assist with foreign audit management and defense.
-Coordinate with Transfer Pricing Manager on implementation of and accounting for transfer pricing.
-Assist with international M&A due diligence and manage integration activities.
-Assist with other planning activities; includes research, interacting with outside domestic and foreign advisors.
-Lead and develop staff.
-Develop process documentation for various international matters

Requirements
Position requirements/experience/skills and abilities

-Eight to twelve years of relevant experience in a large corporate or public accounting firm.
-BS/MS in Finance or Accounting.
-Certified public accountant designation/license, Master Business Taxation or equivalent is a plus.
-Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential. Must have good decision-making skills, be able to reach closure on projects, and achieve deadlines.
-Strong written and oral communication skills required.
-Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
-Based in Minnetonka, Minnesota.
