Job Description

The Client Business Group serves institutional and retail clients, including corporate, public, union and industry pension plans; insurance companies; third-party mutual funds; endowments; foundations; charities; corporations; official institutions; banks; and individuals worldwide.

Professionals within the team work together to deliver a full range of asset management, risk management and advisory services relevant to clients' investment needs. Unified under one global client platform, individual client businesses are accountable for client relationships and distribution of products and services and are supported by a centralized marketing function which ensures consistency globally.

GCG- US Retail- Contracts/Admin Position

Responsibilities include:

Drafting and negotiating broker-dealer, sales/distribution and operational/recordkeeping agreements for open-end mutual funds

Supporting relationship management teams, product development group and internal and external wholesalers

Prioritizing agreements and meeting tight turnaround times for twenty-five relationship managers

Developing and maintaining positive working relationships with relationship management teams and other departments including legal, compliance, mutual fund operations and product development group

Managing internal client expectations and liaising with external clients

Maintaining complete, thorough, accurate and current status of agreements in an organized fashion

Participating in new product offerings and operational initiatives as well as ensuring new funds/mergers are reflected in contractual amendments

Monitoring, assessing and escalating due diligence items

The ideal candidate would have:

Experience with general principles of commercial contract drafting, and ideally, broker-dealer, sales/distribution and operational/recordkeeping agreements for open-end mutual funds

Experience with any, or all of the following: mutual fund registration, broker-dealer and regulatory compliance

Superior communication skills, both written and oral; candidate must be able to meet face to face with senior management and address issues in a competent, articulate and timely fashion

Strong interpersonal, analytical, problem solving, decision-making and organizational skills

Experience managing multiple priorities in a highly regulated, fast paced environment

Candidate must be proactive and able to work both independently and as a team player

J.D. year 2008 or 4 years of large law firm paralegal experience or equivalent experience at another financial services firm (two years in investment services or mutual fund practice)
