Job Description

This position will be responsible for supporting 5 Directors with maintaining and creating monthly reports using SAS, VBA, Excel and Access. The Senior Financial Data Analyst will use databases and relevant software to plan, design, and execute extractions of financial data and reports from the database. Work with business unit customer and/or other technical staff to design effective and efficient reports or other analytical uses of data. Use data mining technologies and algorithms to search databases in productive ways that will meet client objectives.

Prepare and drive content for management-level reporting and presentations. This may include fine tuning of the existing SAS code.
Consult with business unit managers and staff to determine analytical needs and suggest new ways to address those needs.
Determine applicability of varied statistical and mathematical tools to analyze the risk of varied financial products, assets, and transactions
Provide technical advice on larger projects involving analytical or business intelligence objectives.
Consult with database administrators, data architects, and data warehouse managers to assess type, scope, and provenance of data available for further or new forms of analysis.
Track academic research in quantitative modeling used to measure risk for specific products and transactions.

Desired Skills & Experience

Must have strong technical skills and recent hands-on experience with SAS, VBA, Excel and Access.
Previous successful candidates have performed job responsibilities of a Systems Analyst, Data Analyst and Programmer Analyst.
Candidates should feel their strengths are with data, system analysis, reporting and working with financial applications and/or financial models.
Ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills and have experience working in the finance industry.
Ability to fine tune existing SAS code to run the monthly reports.
Ability to create a workable database in Access
Experience working with databases and large datasets.
Bachelor's Degree in Math, Accounting, or Finance.
MBA, Master's or Other Advanced Degree preferred.
