Job Description

US Finance and Operations plays a pivotal role in implementing the firm's business strategy, drives our financial and operational performance excellence to sustain and strengthen the firm's financial well being, and provides business analytics that help extend PwC's market competitiveness. There are ten correlated groups within Finance and Operations:

Finance - Controller Operations, LOS Finance, Treasury, Partnership Tax, US Procurement, Internal Audit;
Operations - Meeting & Event Services, Real Estate, Travel, Security

These groups manage the firm's capital monetary resources; drive budgeting, forecasting, reporting and engagement economics at the partner/business unit level; establish internal controls and processes for cost management; provide a safe and progressive workplace; and provide efficient travel and meeting space so our partners and people can profitably grow our firm.

LoS Finance " Regional and Business Unit (BU) Finance is responsible for executing budgeting and forecasts at the market/region/BU level. Responsible for asset management; i.e., the billings and collections. Oversees engagement economics for individual partners, clients, markets, BU, and region. Manages portfolio for specific partners, markets, clients, BU, and region.

As part of the Assurance Finance organization, the Portfolio Team comprises all Portfolio Managers, Portfolio Senior Associates and Project Team Specialists-Operations. Broadly, across all the staff who comprise the team, their roles focus on analyzing and managing the optimal mix and use of skills, resources and budgets to best achieve the business and revenue goals of the Assurance client service leaders and engagement teams.
Position/Program Requirements
Knowledge Preferred:

Demonstrated understanding of the business strategies and business priorities and ability to collaborate with HR to drive the effective allocation of resources in a manner that promotes individual development while meeting client needs and business objectives.

Skills Preferred:

Demonstrated ability to:

Support the client service Assurance Market Team Leader (MTL) by providing information and support on strategic and operational matters.

Manage economic information around Team clients, inclusive of realization, budgeted hours, revenue goals, rate per hour, etc.

Implement and oversee the satisfactory completion of strategic portfolio activities, including workforce deployment, team expense management, team profitability and portfolio prioritization.

Lead senior manager and manager deployment, provide oversight to senior and associate strategic deployment.

Strategically align talent with clients.

Manage an appropriate level of project support services to client engagement teams by the Project Team Specialist (PTS) staff.

Facilitate meetings with Market Portfolio Manager around client profitability, revenue growth, realization, rate, billing and collections.

Manage economic information around Team clients, inclusive of realization, rate, budget to actual, non-recurring projects.

Review and prepare monthly projections/forecast and commentary including variances to prior year and budget.

Collaborate with Human Resources on: contribution awards, performance feedback, strategic opportunities for managers/seniors, balance needs of engagement with developmental needs of staff.

Obtain input from Human Resources regarding headcount and confirm that related issues are communicated to Market Leader; work to implement headcount plan.

Communicate large client win/losses/issues to leadership with an understanding of the potential impact they could have on the overall team and market strategy.

Analyze Team Dashboards - including turnover, vacation, OT utilization, hours and work life balance issues; provide suggestions and recommendations.

Mentor, coach and train Project Team Specialists (PTS).

Seek opportunities for the PTS-C (client service) to be assigned to engagements and achieve their utilization targets.

Additional Requirements

This role will require a strategic leader who teams with client service Partners, Market Portfolio Managers (M-PoM) and HR managers as well as guides the engagement team managers and staff to successfully achieve team goals.
