Big Data - Quant Programmer/Developer- LA- USD $225K + Bonus.

Description:

My client is the research team of a major energy trading firm. They have an outstanding and exciting opportunity for 2 quantitative developers to join their small but expanding data driven trading team.

Role:

The Quantitative Developer will join an existing team and focus on the research and development of algorithms, software and engines that will assist in the extraction of trading signals from commodities market trading data globally. Working closely with other data scientists and quantitative traders, you will be part of an overall effort to design and deploy systematic trading models for the commodities markets.

Your core skill set and experience will be in the analysis of "big" data sets and the design & development of algorithms and software to extract insights from new sets of data.

WHAT WE LOOK FOR:

• Excellent analytical, and statistical skills.

• Strong experience in scripting languages UNIX shell, Perl, and Python.

• Advanced programming knowledge in C++.

• A bachelor's degree and two to four years of design and development experience.

• Results driven approach to work

• Very strong organizational and communication (both verbal and written) skills.

• Motivated and able to work independently and in a team environment.

• Good organizational skills and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
