Moody's Analytics is seeking a Financial Data Analyst (FDA) to become part of the Structured Analytics and Valuations Data Operations team. FDAs work in collaboration with client services, modeling and development teams to enhance the breadth and scope of coverage of our data and cashflow libraries for our clients. The position is responsible for acquiring, organizing, validating and delivering structured finance performance data for use by internal and external clients; as well as participation in product, tool, workflow and data quality enhancements. The successful candidate will work closely with Data Operations team members and will acquire a thorough knowledge of Structured Finance deal structures and underlying data.
* Acquire, organize, refine and deliver financial data to clients through analytic software libraries and client databases.
* Audit and validate data as part of the monthly data collection and production process and as needed at other times.
* Comprehend and interpret data from multiple sources and undertake research to determine which data points to extract and how to implement them into existing data sets.
* Assist in the release of refined data sets to internal and external clients and downstream processes (including our software models, waterfall libraries, research databases and data warehouse).
* Work with modeling and development teams to build coverage of our financial market data library. Provide insight and feedback to improve the internal data capture and cleaning processes.
* Work with the product management and development teams to implement process improvements.

* Undergraduate or graduate/second-level degree (e.g. MBA, Master's) with an emphasis in finance, economics, math, programming or related quantitative field preferred.
* Exposure to Mortgage and Asset backed securities and/or cash-flow analysis, banking, credit, and/or financial industry preferred.
* Experience in working with large/complex data sets preferred.
* Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel and macros; working knowledge of Microsoft Access preferred.
* Intermediate to advanced VBA, SQL and/or other programming skills preferred.
* Superb analytical skills and persistence in problem solving.
* Experience in using financial technology, application of quantitative methods or database administration.
* Demonstrated initiative and enthusiasm to learn and excel as part of a dynamic team.
Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to work independently.
