We are looking for a creative professional who can innovate, motivate, and collaborate to deliver inspired solutions as part of an industry-leading marketing organization.
The Head of Design Services is responsible for leading a team of design professionals to produce compelling creative strategies, campaigns and programs.
The successful candidate has a proven track record for working closely with senior marketing leaders, brand managers, and communications professionals to deliver differentiated and compelling brand experiences through superior design leadership.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with financial services brands in an agency or in-house creative group and demonstrated success directing, managing and mentoring design teams to achieve best-in-class creative projects.Responsibilities:
Lead a team of design professionals in the development of exceptional work on behalf of J.P Morgan IM Marketing teams, both creatively as well as effectively, in multiple media types including, but not limited to print, digital, presentations and high impact events communications.
Establish trust and collaborate with Investment Management marketing leadership, marketing directors and marketing services to define creative strategy, requirements, expectations and deadlines for creative projects.
Constantly assess and resolve complex creative challenges and quality issues.
Lead efforts to drive efficiencies and effectiveness.
Supervise, coach and elevate the performance for a team of creative professionals of varying skill levels and backgrounds in multiple locations in the Americas.
Apply conceptual strategy, facilitate brainstorming, and provide day-to-day art direction to projects until completion.
Ensure all creative executions meet J.P. Morgan identity standards and deliver on the firm's value proposition.
Source and direct external design services when required, due to capacity or other needs arise.
Collaborate with other Investment Management design organizations globally to leverage capabilities and resources across regions and ensure alignment of identity standards, etc.
Partner and network with creative leaders across the J.P. Morgan and Chase organizations to share best practices, leverage unique skill sets
15 years of related work experience
Strong portfolio of exceptional design work
Proven track record of success leading teams of design professionals, including developing talent, introducing and enhancing project management tools, measuring effectiveness and client satisfaction and identifying opportunities to improve the creative output of the team.
Superior communication/presentation skills and the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management and across all functional areas
Strong leadership, interpersonal, negotiation and people management skills
Bachelors or Masters in Design, Graphic Design, or Advertising or a related field
Proven talent and design/conceptual experience
Proven ability to work effectively in all mediums
Extensive knowledge/understanding of photography, illustration, print process, typography, and interactive media
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, energetic environment
Proficiency in various creative tools (Adobe Creative Suite, PowerPoint, etc.), ability to be hands on when necessary
Organized and able to organize others
Some travel required
