TIAA-CREF's Retirement Plan Product Group is responsible for product planning, management and development of retirement plan record-keeping services. These services include plan administration/record-keeping, employee, sponsor services.

As a Director of Product Management, you will have the opportunity to lead the management and development of core record-keeping plan features impacting retirement plan management including being the product lead for the administrative services, employee services, and plan sponsor services including web channel management. You will be a part of product team that is responsible for a significant amount of TIAA-CREF's technology investment in building industry leading record-keeping services for plan sponsors and participants.

Strong applicants will have proven product management and development experience, deep record-keeping industry knowledge and a solid understanding of plan sponsor and participant retirement plan needs.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Act as the manager and advocate for development and day-to-day management of retirement plan products and/or services
Drive overall development, launch, and integration of new products and services and enhancements; lead analysis and evaluation of new business concepts with sponsors
Lead development of, and ensure adherence to, relevant and required processes / procedures for product management life-cycle
Serve as thought leader at forefront of product innovation for retirement and related products
Serve as the principal subject matter expert for the company on the content related to products and services, in interactions with internal, and in some cases, external audiences
Monitor and evaluate Retirement Plans products and services for quality, consistency with product design, and profitability; identifies product gaps, ongoing product management and development
Develop product plans that evaluate and propose adjustments to the overall TIAA-CREF retirement plan offer based on financial, capacity, and market place and/or operations considerations; these plans must include implementation, marketing and sales detail; recommendations may include closure, merger and/or restructuring of existing products
Develop knowledge of industry challenges / opportunities and competitive positioning; work with servicing vendors to deliver end-to-end products
Create cost / benefit analysis for product initiatives with detailed assumptions and growth projections
Develop, maintains and strengthens relationships with key business partners to ensure the delivery of service and value
Support processes to gather and maintain comprehensive business performance data, as well as repository of market research / data sources; establishes deployed product inventory

Qualifications

Eight to ten or more years of experience in product management and development /business management experience in the financial services industry
Experience with retirement plan products and record-keeping services
Demonstrated experience in influencing business decisions and management of large cross-functional projects
Understanding of retirement plan and record-keeping markets and customer needs
Strong written and verbal communication skills

EDUCATION
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
