Job Description

US IT supports and develops internal systems and applications for use by PWC staff in all areas of the Firm.

The Support Services Demand team is the primary interface between business and IT; prioritizes IT investment within function; commissions projects and services; executes to the business strategy; focuses on maximizing value for the business.

The Systems Consulting team provides business and technology skills in support of the assigned business area.
Position/Program Requirements
Knowledge Preferred:

The Business Solution Director manages a small team that fully understands the functional requirements and integration needs for a business area of the Firm. Responsible for developing a multiyear strategic roadmap to continually enhance a suite of technology tools to support functional requirements which allows PwC to achieve a "technology embedded practice" that distinguishes it from the competition. Uses the strategic roadmap to produce short-term plans to support business IT project proposals. Responsible for the strategic direction of a suite of business applications/services. Manages a team of Solution Managers, working with the appropriate Line of Service or Support Services area and the IT Leadership Council, to approve, prioritize and initiate IT projects. Responsible for providing input into the decision-making process for technical initiatives that span multiple functions affecting the Line of Service or Support Services business. Manages a meaningful portfolio, from identification of business needs to delivery of solutions for an assigned Line of Service or Support Services business area's applications/projects through the oversight of direct staff. Manages the Firm's risk by commitment/adherance to established standards, protects the Firm's intellectual property, disaster recovery planning, and promotes adherance to formal SDLC.

Requires a deep understanding of assigned Line of Service or Support Services business area(s) and Firm standards/processes. Responsible for preparing and presenting IT business proposals to support the achievement of LOS or Support Service area strategy through technology in order to maximize value. Defines the IT strategy and roadmap for their assigned business area to promote a consistent framework. Acts as a single point of contact for business leadership, the Line of Service or Support Services IT Leader, other Business Solution Directors and Solution Managers. Aligns technology strategy and solutions with the overall business strategy. Maintains awareness of emerging technologies and markets these technologies.

Skills Preferred:

8+ years experience of strong business knowledge and operational management experience. Proven success as a leader of high performance teams. Demonstrates competency in relationship management, stakeholder management, change management, and influencing without authority. Develops and strengthens relationships outside of the functional team, focusing on understanding the needs of those who depend on the team's services and those who deliver services on which the team depends. Develops financial "high level" documents on proposed technology solutions and be prepared to present to the leadership team all aspects surrounding the technology including benefits, costs, and strategic business fit
Strong problem-solving, management, presentation, analytical skills, focus on details, and strong business skills, with the ability to document and present technical and financial data. Provides input into the decision-making process for the broader scope of US IT. Defines needs and makes decisions which may impact organizations US-Wide.

Responsible for translating the assigned Line of Service or Support Services business area(s) strategy/plan, including managing a team of Solution Managers, as well as significant interaction with senior level client service or internal Firm services staff/leaders. Responsible for building and maintaining effective relationships within the assigned business area(s), in order to understand business drivers and needs, and how the needs of each stakeholder can best be met as markets and regulatory influences change market conditions. Works extensively with business to define and articulate their stategic priorities.
