US Finance and Operations plays a pivotal role in implementing the firm's business strategy, drives our financial and operational performance excellence to sustain and strengthen the firm's financial well being, and provides business analytics that help extend PwC's market competitiveness. There are ten correlated groups within Finance and Operations:
Finance - Controller Operations, LOS Finance, Treasury, Partnership Tax, US Procurement, Internal Audit; Operations - Meeting & Event Services, Real Estate, Travel, Security
These groups manage the firm's capital monetary resources; drive budgeting, forecasting, reporting and engagement economics at the partner/business unit level; establish internal controls and processes for cost management; provide a safe and progressive workplace; and provide efficient travel and meeting space so our partners and people can profitably grow our firm.
LoS Finance " Regional and Business Unit (BU) Finance is responsible for executing budgeting and forecasts at the market/region/BU level. Responsible for asset management; i.e., the billings and collections. Oversees engagement economics for individual partners, clients, markets, BU, and region. Manages portfolio for specific partners, markets, clients, BU, and region.
As part of the Assurance Finance organization, the Portfolio Team comprises all Portfolio Managers, Portfolio Senior Associates and Project Team Specialists-Operations. Broadly, across all the staff who comprise the team, their roles focus on analyzing and managing the optimal mix and use of skills, resources and budgets to best achieve the business and revenue goals of the Assurance client service leaders and engagement teams. Position/Program Requirements Knowledge Preferred:
Experience leading project team members in a professional environment which includes a considerable knowledge of first level review of audit reports produced by associates, thorough understanding of a client's needs, issue identification and project management.

Provide support to the Portfolio Managers and Market Team Leaders on workforce deployment/staffing, operations management, and portfolio prioritization to manage appropriate levels of audit support services provided to client service staff and engagement teams.
Develop manpower and hours projections used in the budgeting and forecast process (includes resource planning / sizing of needs - campus and new hires, transfers, etc.).
Prepare financial reports outlining actual hours, utilization, and other operational measures; report findings and make recommendations to implement a strategy to improve overall profitability of the portfolio.
Oversee staff utilization to avoid under/over utilization of staff, proactively seeking opportunities outside of the Industry group for those who are under-utilized.
Facilitate monthly discussions concerning resources that have been difficult to staff and/or demonstrated performance/skill deficiencies, including providing Partners with fact-based information to manage client risk and support remediation.
Develop and present presentations to leadership; deliver formal engagement management training to client service staff.
Develop analysis and proposals and lead discussion when scheduling conflicts arise with deployment
Be a resource and serve as a point of reference for new hires throughout assimilation process; assess appropriate engagement assignments for new hires based on skill set, prior experience and lead time.
Determine appropriate number, level and start/end dates for contractors based on resource plans as well as potential client assignments and discuss with HR.
Collaborate with HR on market team assimilation; Serve as a point of reference for new hires throughout assimilation process.
Mentor, coach and train Project Team Specialists (PTS).
