Salary Range 4957683347 Announcement 131014 The Information Technology Office of the New Jersey Judiciary is seeking an individual to assist in the administration and expansion of its disaster planning and recovery program The selected candidate will participate in the development maintenance and exercise of IT disaster recovery plans for a complex mainframe and server environment supporting critical court and law enforcement systems and applications This individual will have an opportunity to apply their technical knowledge strategic planning ability and excellent communications and consultative skills to engage all levels of technology and business staff to Maintain a comprehensive recovery plan ensuring completeness and accuracy Work with technical and business units to assess and validate recovery plans Plan and assist in coordinating regular tests of recovery plans and infrastructure Provide guidance and direction to technical teams to improve the DR program Develop and maintain DR documentation policies and procedures Engage with and manage third party recovery hotsite service providers Prepare reports and issue recommendations Promote awareness of disaster recovery policies and requirements Evaluate and followup on opportunities to continuously improve the program The selected candidate will also provide good project management skills be able to clearly understand key organizational functions and processes and ideally offer some familiarity with disaster recovery planning and recovery techniques The NJ Judiciary enterprise environment includes IBM zOS CICS DB2 Windows Server AIX Cisco mobile data management and a statewide data network linking 15000 users at over 700 locations EDUCATION Graduation from an accredited college or university with an Associates Degree EXPERIENCE Two (2) years of professional experience analyzing designing programming troubleshooting resolving technical problems and installing computer systems applications in a mainframe local area network or personal computer environment OR Two (2) years of technical experience in the operation and maintenance of multiprogram computer systems analysiscomputer programming SUBSTITUTION An Associates Degree in Computer Science may be substituted for the required education and one (1) year of experience Three (3) years of postsecondary education in Computer Science may be substituted for the required education and experience A Bachelors Degree in any field may be substituted for the required education and one (1) year of experience A Bachelors or Masters Degree in Computer Science may be substituted for the required education and experience Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute additional IT technical andor professional experience on a yearforyear basis An AOC Information Technology Office Internship may be substituted for one year of the required experience Completion of a relevant course of training in Information Technology may be substituted for up to one (1) year of the required experience RESIDENCY LAW Pursuant to NJSA 52147 (L 2011 Chapter 70) also known as the New Jersey First Act which became effective September 1 2011 all persons newly hired by the Judiciary on or after that date shall have one year from the date of employment to establish and then maintain principal residence in the State of New Jersey New Jersey state employees hired prior to September 1 2011 who transfer from within the Judiciary or from another State of New Jersey appointing authority without a break in service greater than seven days but who reside outside the State of New Jersey are not required to change their principal residence to New Jersey in order to comply with the Act Applicants should submit a cover letter and current resume complete with announcement number both day and evening telephone numbers and email address by February 27 2013 to Announcement 131014 Judiciary Personnel Office Richard J Hughes Justice Complex PO Box 989 Trenton NJ 08625 OR RecruitmentMailboxJudiciarystatenjus If you are responding to more than one Notice of Vacancy please submit a copy of your resumecover letter for each posting Please include the announcement number in the subject line of your email submission THE JUDICIARY OF NEW JERSEY IS AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITYAFFIRMATIVE ACTION EMPLOYER COMMITTED TO ENSURING AN OPEN DOOR TO JUSTICE
