Description:

BlackRock's Finance team is responsible for the accounting, financial reporting, tax compliance and control of the financial resources of BlackRock and its subsidiaries. The Finance Group is comprised of Investment Products and Controls, Business Finance, Corporate Controllers, Treasury and Risk Management, and Tax.

This position reports to the Director in the Global Investment Accounting group and is primarily responsible for the accounting and financial reporting of certain BlackRock general partnerships (carry interest vehicles). The ideal candidate is someone with knowledge of fund accounting and reporting, and can assist with the group's month-end close process.

Responsibilities:

Prepare unaudited financial statements for certain BlackRock's general partnerships

Track partner allocations, distributions, forfeitures, re-allocations, and vesting of employee interests

Produce capital statements for the partners (employees) and shadow participants invested in the general partnerships

Support Compensation Accounting, Human Resources, Tax, and the Alternatives business for information related to the general partnerships

Assist the Investment Accounting group with their month-end close process
Manage ad hoc project requests

Qualifications:

3-5 years of public accounting experience (preferably in the "Big 4") or work experience in Corporate Accounting (preferably in the financial services fund industry)

CPA preferred

Experience in the preparation of financial statements and reports

Proficient in the Microsoft office 2010 suite

Strong verbal and written communication skills
