Senior Java Developer - Financial Technology - Virginia, WA

My client is a Silicon Valley venture capital-funded technology firm based in Virginia and Hong Kong. They are an international financial services technology company which builds innovative products for global institutions. They have created the world's first financial technology platform based purely in the cloud. What this means is that their geographically diverse range of clients can access a cutting-edge cloud-based brokerage system from anywhere in the world.

My client needs a Senior Java Developer to build trading, market data, and social investing products that enable individual's access to global markets:

• Minimum 5+ years of Java development experience with a solid understanding of internals such as garbage collection, class loading and security
• Minimum 3+ years implementing concurrent software for secure, high availability, transaction-processing systems
• Minimum 3+ years designing components for distributed systems using character based protocols including REST and/or SOAP
• Strong relational database schema design and query optimisation skills
• Proficiency with UNIX-based OS's and Bash
• To be a self-starter who can problem solve and communicate well with others
• Ability to work effectively with an international team, strong English skills required
Requirements:
• Brokerage or other financial programming experience (major advantage)
• Experience with the OSGi framework (major advantage)
• Extensive configuration management experience
• Experience managing application security
• Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent, proven work experience
