As part of the APS Investment Services Performance and GIPS group, the Performance Analytics and Business Modeling Team is responsible for providing analytical and project implementation support for firm wide performance and attribution requirements.  Core competencies of the team include BlackRock performance and attribution platform and infrastructure expertise, broad asset class pnl knowledge, regional markets product knowledge, and project management execution.
 
This individual acts as a contributor to attribution modeling, pnl strategy, and NAV workflow implementation projects.  This individual is responsible for providing support on the Aladdin based attribution and performance data platform for users from various Investment Teams, Client Business groups, BlackRock Solutions client teams, Client Reporting, and Business Operations, by working on product implementation rollouts and providing analysis for detailed pnl and attribution computations on a wide range of asset classes.  In addition, this individual helps with Performance and Attribution product development testing with the firm's technology groups including Portfolio Management Tools and BRS Automation to ensure various partner groups' interests are aligned and internal team objectives can be met.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinates with key client user groups in Investment and Marketing teams to ensure client needs can be serviced through Performance Team based tools

  • Collaborates with various client technology groups to keep Performance platform functions in compliance with latest standards

  • Creates team efficiency through quality control process modeling and implementation

  • Investigates and resolves Performance platform user inquiries on both content and usage

  • Designs workflows and processes to support multi-team total return data needs, involving coordination from multiple teams in all global locations

  • Generates team productivity statistics for management review and proposes ideas for improvement

  • Partners with internal PNL, Attribution, NAV, and GIPS groups to automate processes and reporting to create workload bandwidth
Experience/Qualifications:
  • Previous Asset Management - Performance & Attribution experience preferable

  • Confident communicator

  • Willingness to challenge processes and propose solutions.

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Strong team player

  • Being able to multi task and prioritize work

  • Ability to work under pressure and under tight deadlines.

  • Desire to obtain the CFA designation a plus

  • Experience in gathering and developing detailed functional requirements

  • Experience in investment management environment

  • Experience in leading process improvement efforts

  • Proficiency in Unix, SQL, and relational databases a plus

  • Experience working in a global team a plus

  • Business process modeling skills

  • Good presentation skills

  • 1-5 year experience
